My staunch JW sister who never wants to debate JW doctrine once brought her 2 yr old granddaughter to my mothers house while I was also visiting that afternoon, she wanted to show me what little "Jennifer" could say, Jennifer proceeded to coin the JW phrase, "the end is near, uncle, you better start going to meetings" or something like that, which I'm positive her grandmother trained her to say, I remarked back as I was going out the door, "wow you guys sure do start to brainwash them early don't you?" and left. Havent heard from either since.

there are many, I would have to say: 1) people in big oversize SUV's who tailgate you in the slow lane, 2)women and some men who just have to have the newest louis vuitton or dooney bag 3) and yes the cell phone thing, calling up someone just to tell them your at wal-mart buying some underwear and a bag of apples, I just don't get it!

by Elsewhere ini saw something very disturbing this morning.
i parked my car in the downtown dallas area and in the parking lot across the street i see a grey ford mustang.... with a fake redhead woman sitting in the passenger seat.
it was painfully obvious that this guy was using "her" so he could drive in the hov lane.

Yes I do it quite a bit, either by not "noticing" them, or one time I saw this witness that I used to work with who in fact, was the cause of me being laid off a job one time, he saw me in a local shopping center, I was with my "true" friends and he was with a few witness "friends" , he approached me, introducing me to his entourage, acting very happy to see me, after his introduction, I looked him square in the eye and said, "do I know you?" and he was like, yes its me "John", I again looked at him and said , "nah I dont think I know you, you got to be crazy or something" anyway that burst his happy bubble, cuz I knew he was just trying to impress his witness friends by doing a little preaching to me........ I screwed him this time and I didnt bring any vaseline with me either!

when the nosey JW comes asking questions just say someting like: "well I went to the doctor and he found that my left ball was 3 times the size of an apple, havent been able to move around too much , so I dont have much money, could you spare a few dollars?" by the time you get to the $$$ part of the discussion, they'll be long gone!

Hey! I think we were shunned the other day...
by jgnat inhubby had a loud confrontation with the elders last week.
by pure coincidence we ran in to a few jw's this weekend while walking the dog.
the first family welcomed us with warm christian hospitality.

how long did it take?
by mjs mouse, ben innewbie here, a lil about me......grew up around the jw religion, never was baptized but i did get to the level of "unbaptized publisher" once, as of now i dont attend any "meetings", but still get the watchtowers and awakes pushed to me by family members.
it's actually been 3 years since i realized that it wasnt the "truth", even though i've probably have known it all along.
my question to the groups is, how long did it take you to stop calling it "the truth"?

Embarrassing things that happened to you on the platform?
by Jordan ini remember one of my last talks, it was a bible reading, i was 15, and on crutches.
i tripped getting up on the platform and took the mic stand with me.
that was embarrassing.

new here, good to meet you all!.......I had the #4 talk in the ministry school that evening, my brother told me before the meeting that he was going to wait until the quietest moment during the talk and he was going to let out a ripper!, I told him he better not,he assured me he was just joking, anyway he did fart pretty darn loud and I started laughing right when I asked everyone to turn with me to scripture, couldnt stop laughing , had to abandon the talk, long story short, we both got the hec beaten out of us when we got home by my leather belt wielding, bible thumping mother, and oh by the way, she hit us with the buckle end of the belt, but it was worth it!
